Schwarzenegger impressively went on to win two weightlifting contests, one in 1964 and another 1965. Arnold also received medals for his powerlifting contests, one in 1966 and 1968. While Powerlifting never became a competitive focus for Arnie, the big lifting movements became fundamental parts of his bodybuilding training.
